Alcohol is a natural disinfectant. According to the American Journal of Infection Control, August 1995, "Alcohols applied to the skin are among the safest known antiseptics."
Isn’t alcohol drying to the skin?
Some alcohol grades such as isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) can be drying to the skin. Habit’ high grade botanical alcohol evaporates quickly and does not remove the skin's moisture and natural oils. Habit Hand Sanitizer contains a unique blend of vitmain E that helps moisturize hands to leave them feeling soft and smooth. The Mayo Clinic (2007) reports that using hand sanitizer regularly actually is less drying to the hands than using soap and water; many people simply do not wash their hands sufficiently or properly using soap and water.
For how long after I use Habit Hand Sanitizer does it kill germs?
Habit Hand Sanitizer has no residual germ-killing effect. Habit Hand Sanitizer kills germs on contact, but once it has evaporated, the germ-killing action has stopped. We recommend using regularly when coming into contact with germs or in public spaces.
Does Habit Hand Sanitizer create resistant germs?
Since alcohol evaporates quickly, the likelihood of organisms developing resistance to ethyl alcohol is low and less likely than chemicals with long persistence.
